From slaves brought here in the early 17th century, to the African American trailblazers of today, we celebrate the resilience and determination of a community that has faced and overcome numerous obstacles.

It has been conclusively established that every individual is unique even from birth. That uniqueness follows them through their lives and encompasses many facets that in one form or another contribute to making each of them who they are.
Studies show that there is no single pattern of difficulty for Dyslexic people. For some, the struggles may come in the form of having trouble reading simple words, even if they have encountered these words many times. Others read slowly and often feel they have to work extra hard when reading. While some Dyslexic people mix up the letters in a word, such as reading the word "now" as "won" or "left" as "felt." For people with Dyslexia, words blend together and spaces are often lost.
ADHD is classified as a childhood condition since signs typically appear about the age of seven, and it is usually diagnosed before the age of twelve. ADHD is described as a behavior pattern that includes both inattention and hyperactivity and disrupts normal development and functioning in two settings - at home and school.
